Step into a colorful world of self-expression with artist Alex Pellegrini in this interactive workshop on clothing and shoe decoration using felt marking pens. Alex will guide you through techniques for drawing, painting, creating patterns, and adding vibrant details to fabric and shoes. You’ll learn how to turn ordinary items into wearable art while developing your own creative style. Bring your own clothing or shoes to customize and make something uniquely yours. Whether you're an experienced artist or someone who just wants to have fun and experiment, all levels are welcome. This workshop is part art class, part creative play, and all about self-expression. Two ordinary men are accidentally transported to the desert planet Pluke, where matches are precious, social hierarchies are absurd, and almost everything seems to operate according to rules nobody bothered to explain. Brutal Sound Effects Festival #102

Brutal Sound Effects Festival #102 lands at Live Worms Gallery / The Church of Mother Gong for the first time — an evening of adventurous sound, unruly electronics, noise, performance, and other excursions into the experimental. This edition brings together Joseph Hammer (LA), Bullshit Detector, Rat Diet, Lime Rickey International, Ploc Munster, and Lime Eyelid for a night of strange sounds, unexpected turns, and performances that move between the abrasive, hypnotic, playful, and surreal. A longtime fixture in San Francisco’s experimental underground, the festival occupies its own peculiar territory: part concert, part gathering, part controlled accident. For Festival #102, that strange little universe takes over Live Worms in North Beach for the first time. Show starts at 8pm sharp! Plan to arrive in North Beach early if you're driving, as parking is hard to find! $6-10 cash or Venmo at the door if you wish to avoid additional fees.

Goth Yoga in North Beach

Goth Yoga returns to the Church of Mother Gong for an afternoon of stretching, breathing, and getting a little weird in North Beach. This all-levels class is a chance to slow down, move around, and enjoy yoga with a slightly darker disposition. Beginners are very welcome—no special flexibility, experience, or goth credentials required. Some mats and blocks will be available, but please bring your own if you have them.

The Memory of Plants: Acacia Confusa + Syrian Rue

Acacia Confusa + Syrian Rue: Origins, Ancestral Uses, and Ceremonial Practices Jennifer Langford will lead participants through a two-hour workshop exploring Acacia confusa and Syrian rue — two plants with long histories of ceremonial and ancestral use. We’ll look at where these plants come from, how they have been understood and worked with across different cultures, and the traditions and stories that have gathered around them over time. Taking place on Day of the Dead, the workshop offers a fitting moment to consider memory, lineage, and the ways plant knowledge is carried from one generation to the next. The gathering will close with a non-psychedelic tea offering and a guided Yoga Nidra practice. If you wish to avoid ticket fees, please visit the Church of Mother Gong to register in person.
